AI Video Face Swap Put a face into a clip you already have

Upload a clip and one clear portrait. The face is replaced and the performance, framing, background and timing stay where they were. Read the limits before you start: 4 seconds out, 480p, clips up to 15 seconds in, and it costs credits from the first run — there is no free swap on this page.

Swap the Face

Use only faces you own or have permission to use. Everyone shown on this page is an AI-generated character.

480p · 4s

Our own run, at this page’s own tier. The smile arrives at the same moment it does in the source clip.

How to swap a face in a video

Upload the clip and one front-on portrait of the face you want in it. The model re-renders the clip with that face on the person, keeping their movement, their clothes and the background. You get 4 seconds at 480p in about two minutes, and each run costs 24 credits — new accounts start with 20, so the first swap needs a small top-up.

What this does and does not do

Read this before spending anything.

4 seconds out

Fixed. Three seconds fails at the provider and every extra second is another 6 credits.

15 seconds in

The model’s own ceiling on a reference clip. A longer file is refused before you are charged.

One face, front-on

One clearly visible face in the clip, and a front-on portrait going in. Profiles do not carry a likeness.

No free run

A swap costs 24 credits; signup gives 20. Every other tool page has a free tier — this one does not.

Upload a Clip

Video face swap in 3 steps

  1. Step 1

    Upload the clip

Up to 15 seconds, MP4, MOV or WebM. One clearly visible face, looking towards the camera.

  2. Step 2

    Upload the face

One front-on portrait, evenly lit. Distinctive detail is what carries the likeness across.

  3. Step 3

    Generate

About two minutes for a 4-second result at 480p. You can leave the page and come back.

What survives the swap, and what gets rewritten

One real run on this page’s own tier: a 4-second talking-head clip, static camera, one subject.

What we checkedResultWhat we measured
The performanceSurvives — this is the strong sideNeutral at 0.2s, a small smile at 1.4s, wider at 2.6s and 3.8s. The result follows the same arc at the same timestamps
The likenessCarries acrossRecognisably the person from the portrait — jawline and eye shape both came through
Camera and backgroundHeldThe window, the street bokeh, the warm light and the depth of field are all where they were
ClothingPartly rewrittenA cream cable-knit came back with cable-knit sleeves and a navy chest. This is the main defect, and it is why the page says "reface", not "edit"
HairComes with the new faceSame behaviour as the image tool — it replaces the head, not the features
The file itselfRe-rendered, not patched97 frames in, 129 out (24 → 31fps), and the dimensions shift slightly. It is a new clip, not your clip with edits

How long can the video be?

It is the first thing everybody asks — the searches around this tool are full of "30 seconds", "60 seconds", "10 minutes" and "unlimited" — so here is the honest answer before you upload anything.

You can bring a clip up to 15 seconds. What you get back is 4 seconds. Those are two different limits and both are real: 15 is the model’s ceiling on a reference clip, and 4 is the output length, fixed because three seconds fails at the provider and every second past four costs another six credits. If the free tools promising 30 seconds unlimited are what you want, they are a click away and we are not going to pretend to match them.

What this page is for is the case where four seconds is the whole job: a reaction shot, a single line of dialogue, a loop for a card or a message, a test of whether an idea reads at all before you commit to shooting it. For anything longer, or for higher quality, the Video surface has the full model range and no 4-second cap — that is the paid route and it is a different tool, not a bigger button.

Your files stay yours

A clip of someone’s face is personal. What happens to it here:

Nothing uploads before sign-in

Picking a file only previews it on your device. Not one byte is stored until you sign in and click generate.

Private, deduplicated storage

Uploads land in your private library, never a public gallery, and re-running the same clip stores nothing new.

Deletable any time

Remove uploads and results from your library whenever you want.

Need longer, or sharper?

The Video surface has the full model range — longer clips, higher resolution and native audio — without this page’s 4-second cap.

Frequently asked questions

1.Is the video face swap free?

No. A run costs 24 credits and a new account gets 20 on signup, so the first swap needs a small top-up. We would rather say that here than after you have uploaded a clip. The image face swap on the other page does have five free runs, because a photo costs four credits instead of twenty-four.

2.How long can my clip be?

Up to 15 seconds in. The result is 4 seconds at 480p. A longer file is refused in the browser before anything is charged.

3.Can I get 30 seconds, or unlimited swaps?

Not on this page — 4 seconds is the output length and each run is billed. For longer clips and stronger models, use the Video surface.

4.Will my clip come back exactly as it was, with a new face?

The movement, framing, background and timing come back intact — in our test the smile landed on the same frames as the source. The clothing is where it slips: a cream cable-knit came back with a navy chest. And the hair arrives with the new face, because the model replaces the head rather than the features.

5.Does it keep the audio?

No. The output is a silent 4-second clip — the run is a re-render, not an edit of your file, so nothing from the original track is carried over.

6.Can I swap more than one face in the clip?

One at a time, and a crowded frame is the wrong input for this tool: with several faces in shot the model re-composes the picture. Bring a clip with one clearly visible subject.

7.What resolution do I get?

480p. It is the tier this page runs at deliberately — at 720p the same 4 seconds costs more than double, which for a page with no free run is a worse first experience, not a better one.

8.Whose face am I allowed to use?

Your own, or someone else’s with their permission. Do not use a public figure’s face, and do not make a clip that puts a real person in a situation that never happened or implies an endorsement they did not give.

9.Why does it take two minutes?

The clip is generated frame by frame rather than patched, which is also why the performance survives. You can leave the page — the run is remembered and picked back up when you return.
