Make videos with Renoise inside Claude and ChatGPT
Make videos, images and music in Claude, ChatGPT or your coding agent. Connect in one click: no API key, and it uses your Renoise credits.
Connector: Renoise runs in the cloud. Nothing to install; your chat app connects to it.
Plugin: installs Renoise workflows and the Renoise CLI on your computer, so your agent can also edit files locally.
Why Renoise in your chat
Hand off the whole edit
Claude Code runs in your own Renoise cloud workspace and does the post-production for you: it cuts the clips, adds captions, titles and music, checks the result and delivers the finished video. Available in Claude and other MCP apps, not in ChatGPT.
A director built in
Renoise’s director, storyboard and model-choice workflows load into the chat, so the assistant plans the shots and picks the right model for each one.
Works with what you already have
The assistant can find the photos, videos and audio in your Renoise library and use them as references.
Build on every result
Save any result as an asset and use it in the next generation, for example a finished image as the first frame of a video.
Templates right in the chat
Browse templates, upload your photo and watch the result play without leaving the conversation.
How Renoise compares
Generation-only MCP servers just call models: no creative workflows and no editing. Cloud editing isn’t available in ChatGPT.
| Renoise MCP | Generation-only MCP servers | Without MCP (websites and apps) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Make videos, images and music from the chat | Yes | Yes | No |
| Use the photos and videos you already have | Yes | Varies | Upload them again each time |
| Director, storyboard and model choice built in | Yes | No | You write every prompt |
| Finish the video: cuts, captions, music | Yes | No | In a separate editing app |
| Templates, uploads and playback in the chat | Yes | Varies | No |
| Build the next shot on the last result | Yes | Varies | Download, then upload again |

Editing, captions and music
Cut clips together and add captions, titles and a soundtrack in Renoise’s cloud workspace. Not available in ChatGPT.

Connector, plugin or API?
Connector (MCP)
For Claude, ChatGPT and other chat apps
Nothing to install. Sign in once and make videos in the conversation.
Plugin and CLI
For Claude Code, Codex and OpenClaw
Installs Renoise workflows and the Renoise CLI on your computer, so your agent can also work with local files and scripts.
API
For developers
Build Renoise into your own product or pipeline with an API key and the OpenAPI spec.
Cost and limits
- Connecting is free. Generations use your Renoise credits at the same prices as on the website.
- Renoise asks the assistant to show the estimated cost and wait for your OK before it generates. That is an instruction to the assistant, not a hard spending cap.
- An estimate covers one generation. A finished video with several shots, media analysis or cloud editing costs more in total.
- Queued generations can be cancelled and refunded. Once a generation is running, it can’t be stopped and is charged.
- Media analysis and cloud editing use credits too.
- Each account can make up to 300 requests a minute.
Security and access
- You sign in on renoise.ai. Your password never goes to the chat app.
- Before you connect, Renoise shows which app is asking, what it will be able to do and where it sends you back.
- Connecting creates an access key named “MCP ·” plus the app’s name in your Renoise API keys. It has the same access as an API key and doesn’t expire.
- To disconnect, remove Renoise in the chat app and revoke that key in your Renoise API keys.
- Your uploads and results are stored in your Renoise account, just like when you use the website.
Questions
Do I need a Renoise API key?
No. Chat apps connect by signing in to your Renoise account, and the plugin signs in through your browser. API keys are only for developers calling the Renoise API directly.
Does using Renoise in Claude or ChatGPT cost extra?
No. Connecting is free, and generations use your Renoise credits at the same prices as on the website. Your Claude or ChatGPT plan is separate.
Which apps does it work with?
Claude on the web and desktop, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, and any app that can add a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in.
Which models does it use?
The same video, image and audio models as the Renoise website. The assistant picks one for the job, or uses the one you name, and always reads the current list from Renoise.
How long does a video take?
It depends on the model and the length; a clip usually takes a few minutes. The assistant waits for it and shows the result in the chat when it is ready.
Where do my videos go?
They show up in the chat and are saved to your Renoise account, so you can also find them on renoise.ai.
Is this made by Anthropic or OpenAI?
No. Renoise is an independent product that connects to Claude and ChatGPT through the open Model Context Protocol (MCP).
How do I disconnect Renoise?
Remove the Renoise connector in your chat app, then revoke the “MCP ·” key in your Renoise API keys.
Can my team use it?
Yes. Each person connects their own Renoise account, and generations use that account’s credits.
How do I add Renoise to another MCP app?
Add a remote MCP server with the URL https://renoise.ai/api/public/mcp and sign in to Renoise when asked. For ChatGPT, use https://renoise.ai/api/public/mcp/chatgpt.
