Updates & Migration

This page tracks version changes and migration notes for the Renoise plugin. If you installed an older version before, read the migration guide below first.

Breaking change: the plugin has been renamed to renoise
Starting with 1.0.0 the plugin is unified under the name renoise; earlier installs used the old name video-maker. Plugin managers identify installs by name, so the old video-maker will not upgrade automatically — it stays on the old version and you need to migrate to renoise manually.
1.0.0Latest

Unified under the name renoise

The plugin is now unified under the name renoise (formerly video-maker). Because plugin managers identify installs by name, an existing video-maker install will not switch to the new name on update, so a one-time manual migration is required.

Highlights

Default models upgraded to seedance-2.0 and seedream-5-0-pro, plus a new multi-shot narrative consistency workflow and new capabilities such as audio generation, upscaling, and omni editing.

How to migrate#

If you previously installed the old video-maker, follow the steps for your host below; a fresh install needs no migration.

Claude Code

If an old install remains, uninstall the old plugin first:

claude plugin uninstall video-maker@renoise-plugins-official

Then uninstall and reinstall the renoise plugin:

claude plugin uninstall renoise@renoise-plugins-official
claude plugin install renoise@renoise-plugins-official

Restart Claude Code when done.

Codex

Delete the old video-maker entry and its cloned directory from ~/.agents/plugins/marketplace.json.

Then reinstall the renoise way:

codex plugin marketplace add renoise-ai/renoise-plugins-official
codex plugin add renoise@renoise-plugins

Restart Codex when done.

OpenClaw

Just reinstall:

openclaw plugins install @renoise/plugin
After migrating, slash commands change from /video-maker:* to /renoise:*.
